Defying tremendous oppression by the Punjab government to prevent Sikhs from gathering at a 12-acre field near Tarun Taarun on Nov. 10, 2015, about half a million Sikhs formed the Sarbat Khalsa – worldwide Sikh parliament – to voice their outrage at the Badal administration for not preventing a series of desecrations of the Guru Granth, and at the Punjab police for using lethal tactics to disperse peaceful protesters, and to impeach and expel the five jathedaars and SGPC leaders.

The following is a video with English transcription of the proceedings of Sarbat Khalsa 2015. It contains general ideas of repetitive content, summaries of relevant content and paraphrases of significant content.

0 - MC:    Panth kee… (May the Sikh nation...).

Panth:    ...jeeth (...remain victorious).

MC:    Jhoolthay nishaan rehay (May our flag keep flying). Waheguru ji ka Khalsa, Waheguru ji ki Fateh (The Sikh nation belongs to God (Wonderful Teacher), Victory belongs to God).

MC:    Many people of the press are here. If you are satisfied, then we can open the outer tents…

40Harpreet Singh, Tarun Dal:    The clouds and Badals have made us very miserable, put many impediments in our way.  But you have cut through these and you have come to the Guru’s lap. I’ll just finish with the thought that if we turn the people in the seat of power into lions then it can be over. But if the Sikh people are the race of lions and make that person a leader of this race, it will be of no avail to them because now all of Punjab society is made of lions.  (Every person is a lion, or leader, so the present leaders have no say, in that case). Now I ask all those who are collected here to give us a good leader.

45MC:    I have managed many staged, but never of this proportion or size. Now I am requesting those who are not speaking to clear the stage because it is buckling.

40 - Prem Singh, Budha Dal:    We need to uproot the Badal government and Shiromani committee. Let’s make a united front against the Akali Dal. Do not forget when you go back (to vote against them).

40MC:    Don’t let these enemies of the Panth come into your village (and get your votes).

30Garjinder Singh, Sikh Youth Federation, Bhindranwale:    In June, the Guru Granth Sahib was stolen and nobody has been arrested for this outrage. But when someone made a wrong comment about Badal’s granddaughter on Facebook, that person was arrested within 24 hours. We need to free the gurdwaras, the takhats and the SGPC (from Badals and jathedars), and remove the shackles of slavery from our necks. We need to realize what Bhindranwale preached and make that a reality. The young people, from their home, will rise and not spare the guilty for the disappearance of the Guru Granth Sahib. In the hearts of everyone here in this gathering is a desire to uproot the jathedars and announce the names of new jathedars.

50MC:    This is the stage of Truth.

50Baba Nand Singh of Bidhi Chand Taksal  (a Punjabi cult):    We are all gathered here, from all different cults, to support the capture of those guilty of stealing the Guru Granth Sahib.

50MC:    Someone told Jathedar Gurbachan Singh we will not follow you.

20Jarnail Singh, Batala:    The first Sarbat Khalsa was held on Jan. 26, 1986. Hukam Singh called for the gathering. The second one was at the Akal Takhat and the third one was called by the martyrs who protested against the sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib. If you protest it will work, but if you become soft and begin to seek camaras and chairs (positions), nothing will work. You will be lost.

40MC:    Not everybody is equal. Students of Damdami Taksal told (Akal Takhat Jathedaar) Gurbachan Singh. Run away from here, we do not accept you.

10Kahn Singh?:    The false Singh (Akal Takhat Jathedaar) has betrayed us. You (jathedaar) should wear a plate around your neck that says you are a traitor.

10MC:    Calling out names of supporters and announcing next speaker.

45Resham Singh, Kukhraanawale:    In the Sarbat Khalsa’s image, we have gathered here. Enemies of the Panth (Sikh nation) have surrounded us. They control the Panth. People gathered on stage have the responsibility to unite everyone and drive out the SGPC (leaders) and the jathedaars, and replace them. This is the sangat’s wish.

00MC:    50 busses, name list of supporters.

48Ravinder Singh Gogi, son of Bapu Surat Singh (on hunger strike against unlimited detention of political prisoners):    In the land of the martyrs the Sarbat Khalsa has gathered. Surat Singh has been on a hunger strike since January. In June, sacralige was committed against the Guru Granth Sahib. Two Sikhs were martyred in the Bargari protests. We had to gather the Sarbat Khalsa. Bapu’s single message and biggest problem is the baeadbi (sacrilege) of the Guru Granth Sahib. The Akal Takhat is in the wrong hands and needs to be freed from those wrong hands. Political prisoners languishing in prisons should be released. The Sarbat Khalsa was called to take care of these problems and it should submit good resolutions before leaving here. This movement will continue and will succeed.

50MC:    Calling out names of supporters and announcing next speaker.

15Paramjit Singh, Saholi:    Father and son (Badals) have become sleepless. The jewels of the Sikhs will be chosen to become the new leaders and jathedaars. We have to support them on every point.

20MC:    Calling out names of supporters and announcing next speaker.

25Amarjit Singh, Maryada:    Those who were the detractors, who said this Sarbat Khalsa would not succeed, have been slapped in the face. The Sarbat Khalsa can fix this. Baeadbi was committed against the Guru Granth Sahib, two Singhs were martyred, but we (Sarbat Khalsa) are still peaceful.

13MC:    We will lift the curtains around the Badal government and expose them.

30Jaspal Singh Haera, editor:    In the land of Damdami Taksal, in which Baba Deep Singh drew the line of martyrdom, you have crossed that line and come here willing to be martyred. They (Badals/jathedaars) drew a line and you have crossed it and come together here. That line today is what is happening in Punjab: baeadbi of Guru Granth Sahib, shaheed of Singhs, people being oppressed, people being murdered. Now we have come together to stop this. Do or die is our slogan. When sacrilege is committed against the Guru Granth Sahib, we will not go to a government or file a case. The Sikh kaum (nation) will take care of it by itself. If the Guru Granth Sahib is insulted, the Panth will make a judgment within 72 hours. We challenge the enemy forces. Today we are announcing the end of the Badal reign. After today, these people will not be seen in Punjab. Now I request the leaders seated here should respect the sentiments of the kaum and they should keep the panth united.

15MC:    Calling out names of supporters and announcing next speaker.
